Overview
Queen Elizabeth is the longest-reigning monarch in British history and is a modern-day icon. Her long reign has featured many celebrations, and the monarchy remains an important piece of British culture and identity. Here, Trinkl combines classic British imagery with contemporary art.
The portrait of the Queen is different to what the viewer might expect. She has an array of vintage tattoos on her neck and shoulders. Behind her is a street party staple of red, white and blue bunting and a collection of stickers, spray paint and graffiti. One piece reads “God save the Queen”.
